Last updated: 7 July 2026. This policy explains how West Cornwall Roofing & Leadwork handles the personal data you give us when you request a quote, contact us, or use this website. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
West Cornwall Roofing & Leadwork is a roofing and leadwork business operated by Steve Biggs as a sole trader, based in Penzance, West Cornwall (TR18 3PU). What we collect and why
When you use our quote or contact form, or message us, we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, email address, phone number, postcode/property location and the job details you describe. We use this only to respond to your enquiry, provide a quote and, if you go ahead, carry out and record the work.
If you contact us by WhatsApp or phone, we process your phone number and the content of your messages so we can reply.
With your consent, we also collect anonymous website-usage information through Google Analytics (see “Cookies” below) to understand how the site is used and improve it.
Our lawful basis
We rely on your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business to process your enquiry details. For analytics cookies we rely on your consent, which you give through the cookie banner and can withdraw at any time.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of essential cookies that are needed for the website to work, and to remember your cookie choice. These are always on.
We also use Google Analytics 4 to measure how the site is used. These analytics cookies only load after you accept them on the cookie banner. Until you accept, no analytics cookies are set (we use Google Consent Mode, which defaults to denied). You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the business, who process it on our behalf:
- GoHighLevel — our customer-relationship system, which stores and manages your enquiry.
- Google (Analytics) — anonymous website-usage statistics, only with your consent.
- Cloudflare — hosts and secures this website.
- WhatsApp / Meta — if you choose to message us through WhatsApp.
We may also disclose information if required to by law.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry and job records only for as long as we need them to carry out the work and keep reasonable business and tax records, after which they are deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email us at steve.westcornwallroofing@gmail.com and we will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
